From hybrids to hermaphrodites in population genetics

A report on the 46th annual PopGroup conference, Glasgow, UK, December 18-21, 2012. This process mimics antigen-induced clonal expansion of resting B cells associated with MYCmediated proliferation and upregulation of NF-B, MAP kinases and antiapoptotic factors. Recent data have shown that EBNA2, which is essential to this process, enhances and exploits the B cell transcription program by binding to a variety of B cell transcription factor sites to achieve transformation [4].
