In recent times, there has been an increasing interest in superhydrophobic surfaces, as these surfaces have applications in various fields. Many different methods for the fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces have been reported; these include a sol-gel method, chemical etching, the application of a polymer, electrodeposition, and the use of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of organic materials.
