All workers can ask for flexible hours to make jobs family friendly

EVERY EMPLOYEE can now request flexible working hours after the government extended the right previously reserved for carers and those looking after children. The move gives individuals the statutory right to ask their bosses to change their contractual terms and conditions of employment in favour of a more flexible approach -provided they have clocked up at least 26 weeks' continuous service.
