The Ebola crisis has been in the headlines almost constantly for the last few months. As a consequence, workers in the region and neighbouring countries are understandably concerned. But are these fears justified? And, if so, who is at risk and what should they do to protect themselves? It is probably fair to say that the fear of Ebola has been spreading faster than the disease itself. While there are risks and people in the affected areas shouLd take extra care, transmission of the virus that causes EboLa only occurs in fairly limited circumstances. Unless you have direct contact with a victim you are unlikely to contract the disease.
