The GSSA hosted a meeting to promote and debate the concept of Geoheritage within South Africa, an initiative that is gathering pace in time for the IGC, which is to be held in Cape Town in 2016. Surrounded by the strange, otherworldly Oervlakte, the subterranean caves of the Cango system, the Swartberg mountain range and the charismatic fossils of the Klein Karoo, there was no shortage of inspiration for attendees at the forum, held in Outdshoorn from 9 to 11 September.
