摘要

On the 30th Jane this year, Bruce Cairncross and the Dean of the Faculty of Science will travel to Germany to sign a ollaborative agreement ' between the Jacob. University (JU) in Bremen ana UJ's depaitment of Geology. In 2004, these two universities had a formol exchange programme whereby undergraduate students from JU came to South Africa and participated in our annual mid-year field schools. In return, the top three 3rd year geology students from UJ went to JU at Bremen for a semoster of lectures.
