Kr uger is one of the oldest and most well known national parks in the world. The geological setting of the greater Lowveld area in relation to the major formations of South Africa has been established by regional mapping. A synthesis published in 2 0 06 covering this area is included in "The Geology of South Africa" by Johnson, Anhaeusser and Thomas.
