Umfolozi inlier KZN: a proposed geopark

摘要

UNESCO's recent international recognition of sites of both national and/or provincial geological heritage has allowed for the development of the Global Network of National Geoparks (Geoparks Secretariat, 2006). The major focus for Geoparks are areas comprising a number of internationally important geological sites or a mosaic of geological features of special scientific importance, rarity or beauty. Where possible geoparks should also include sites of ecological, archaeological, historical or cultural value.
