A first survey of the herbaceous flora in the north west of the Murge region.

In this paper are listed alphabetically 215 species collected on Monte Castiglione (543 m above sea level) in the Alta Murgia national park in Apulia (a map is provided). Aspects discussed include climate, biological form and growth habit; a chorological analysis is presented. One taxon new to the area (Crepis sancta) was identified together with a number of endemic species.
