A geographic information system was used to assemble and retrieve the parameters represented in a map used for a mathematical model to predict the environmental impacts on groundwater quality in the Viterbo region, Italy. The described model (DRASTIC) includes the following parameters: depth, recharge, aquifer, soil, topography impact of the vadose zone and conductivity. Although by using the model it should be possible to indicate areas of low, medium and high vulnerability, it was not possible toaccurately interpret the results, probably because of certain limits in training and interpretation in the studied area.
