Geophysics for elephant country

I took a bus conductor's holiday from the 5-12 October 2013 when I attended the South African Geophysical Association's (SAGA) two-yearly conference held at Skukuza Camp in the Kruger National Park. Being a geologist, I feel that I do not qualify to be a busman! SAGA is renowned for holding its gatherings in exotic locations, and this year's one was really superlative. One supposes that this was the main reason that about 300 delegates signed up, half of whom came from outside South Africa, making the event truly international. The other was the coupling of the 2-day 6th International AEM (Airborne Electromagnetics) Conference and Exhibition to the 3-day main SAGA event.
