摘要

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the most common worldwide cause of lower respiratory tract infections (LRI) in infants, elderly people, and immune-compromised individuals. RSV can be reinfected and previous infection does not prevent subsequent re-infection, but there is no effective vaccine against RSV. Ribavirin has been approved as an antiviral agent against RSV infection, however, its efficacy and clinical benefits are still controversial.
