A NOVEL DEVICE FOR YARN PRESSURE VARIATION MEASUREMENT IN WILD WINDING

Winding is usually considered as a minimal operation because it consists only in transferring yarn from a bobbin to another. But winding has two main functions, copping and clearing. Copping confers specific properties to the bobbins to adapt them to eventual use like beaming, dyeing, weaving, knitting, and so forth. The clearing function is the most important. It removes yarn imperfections (surface contamination, slubs, etc.) in order to improve yarn shape and to decrease yarn breakage rate. Clearing has an economical interest because of productivity increase during eventual use.
