摘要

The results of the multicentre trial by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Continuous Glucose Monitoring Study Group provide evidence that use of CGM in adults (3=25 y of age) with type 1 diabetes.can improve metabolic control without increasing hypoglycaemia. However, CGM was ineffective in children and adolescents.Despite efforts to enrol motivated and competent participants, 50-70% of those <25 years of age did not wear the CGM sensors for 3=6 days/week. Several different types of CGM units were used in the trial, each with features that may have influenced compliance. Specifically, some sensors required a 3-day site change whereas others lasted 7 days, a few units had trend alarms that can be useful or troublesome, and 1 device did not permit users to see glucose values for the first 10 hours. It is unknown how these differences may have contributed to varying levels of motivation to wear the sensors.
