摘要

In the absence of effective disease-modifying therapies, it is no surprise that many people are searching for any plausible treatment for AD. Vitamin B has been considered a promising and affordable therapy that may slow progression of AD by lowering blood concentrations of homocysteine, an amino acid that is elevated in patients with vitamin B deficiency as well as those with AD. Homocysteine concentrations may be related to plasma concentrations of the toxic amyloid protein that creates sticky plaques and tangles in patients with AD.
