摘要

To find some novel ashless, low-phosphorus multifunctional environmentally compatible lubricating oil additives, a series of s-triazine derivatives were synthesized, and their tribological properties as additives in mineral oil, rapeseed oil and/or synthetic oil were evaluated by using the four-ball test machine. At the same time, to find some clues regarding the tribological mechanism, XPS and Scanning Electron Microscope were used to investigate the elemental composition and chemical nature of the antiwear films on the worn surfaces of the steel ball lubricated with the additive-containing base oil. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 11th Annual Fuels Lubes Asia Conference (Beijing, China 3/15-18/2005).
