Yara and BASF break ground on ammonia plant in Freeport, Texas

Yara International ASA and BASF have broken ground on a new world-scale ammonia plant at the BASF site in Freeport, Texas. The two companies confirmed their intention to build the joint venture plant in May 2014. Now, with ground broken on the site, the plant - which will have a capacity of around 750,000 metric tons per year - is expected on-stream in 2017.
