摘要

In December 2005, the.library received notice that a bid for funding to the Wellcome Trust's Research Resources in Medical History scheme had been successful and that a sum would be awarded enabling us to conserve many, although by no means all, of the items identified at risk in a survey of the archives and manuscripts carried out earlier in the year. Graeme Gardiner of Preservation Solutions, who has worked on the collections annually for nearly ten years, was asked to undertake the work and it was proposed that the first items should be taken for preservation at the end of March 2006.
