摘要

The artificial humidification of room air has great significance in the HVAC field, and also for optimum operation of industrial processes. Addition of water to air on a large scale is essentially achieved using the three classical methods of atomization, vaporization and evaporation. On hygiene criteria, in particular, the evaporation of water has proven worthwhile. The methods used for a number of decades utilize electrical energy for generation of steam. This range is rationally expanded via the natural gas-fired intrinsic-steam air humidifier discussed here. This new application for natural gas offers significant advantages over electrically operated evaporator systems, particularly on energy and economic criteria. The natural gas-fired evaporator provides an alternative to the methods used up to now, above all for high steam production rates. In view of its many and diverse potential applications, the natural gas-fired air humidifier is destined to become established extremely rapidly and thus further expand the range of applications for natural gas.
