Novel irregular vascular pattern features of serrated adenoma detected by high-definition iScan endoscopic technique

To the Editor: We have read with interest the article by Hazewinkel et al, who assessed and validated the endoscopic findings of sessile serrated adenoma/polyp (SSA/P) using high-resolution white-light endoscopy (HR-WLE) and narrow-band imaging (NBI). The authors defined the endoscopic features of serrated adenoma by HR-WLE and NBI images. Four features were associated with SSA/P such as a cloud-like surface and indistinctive borders on both HR-WLE and NBI, whereas dark spots and irregular shape were predictive endoscopic features on NBI. Vascular pattern abnormalities were not noted on NBI.
