A 73-year-old woman presented with hematemesis and mild epigastric pain. She had depression and Alzheimer dementia without any known GI disorder. She admitted that she had taken bleaching agents, which contained 3% hydrogen peroxide (H_2O_2), with suicidal intent before arrival. Basic laboratory examinations were normal. CT showed intrahepatic portal venous gas (A), and EGD showed hemorrhagic gastritis (B,C). After a few clays of conservative treatment with a proton pump inhibitor, she was discharged without any sequelae.
