GI fellowship abroad: experiences of a fellow from India.

To date, most of the essays published in this section of the Journal have had the issues or interests of domestic GI fellows in mind. This month we bring you the perspective of an international fellow. Dr. Shalimar, who recently completed a GI fellowship at the premier medical college of India, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, talks about his experiences. Although this essay in no way reflects the typical experience of every GI fellow in India, we do hope to give our readers a flavor of what it is like to train outside the United States.
