摘要

We thank Perera et al for their interest in our article entitled "Pancreaticobiliary complications after composite visceral transplantation: incidence, risk, and management strategies." The authors of the letter raised some important points that we "would like to comment on. The primary audience of our article was therapeutic endoscopists. As the number of composite visceral transplantations continues to increase, endoscopists are increasingly called on to manage pancreaticobiliary (PB) complications in such patients, not only in expert centers, but also throughout the world. The aim of the article was to describe the overall incidence and risks of PB complications as well as the different surgical techniques and associated PB anatomy that gastroenterologists should anticipate during endoscopy in this diverse group of patients.
