Two-step piecemeal resection of larger colorectal polyps: does it make sense?

We read with interest the article of Khashab et al,1 which provides evidence that biopsy-driven evaluation of a normal-appearing polypectomy scar at follow-up is predictive of long-term eradication after piecemeal resection of large, sessile, colorectal adenomas.All those who perform these technically demanding procedures know how hard it can be to properly assess the operative field, often blurred with small clots or diathermic burns, at the end of the procedure.
