Migration is one of the most common complications after the insertion of a self-expandable metal stent (SEMS) in the esophagus and is reported to occur at a rate of 2.9% to 9%-1'2 Successful repositioning of migrated stents has been reported.3'4 However, extraction of the migrated stent is advocated because it can cause hemorrhage, perforation, or bowel obstruction.5 We reportacase of easy endo-scopic removal of a migrated esophageal SEMS after compression with detachable snares through another esophageal SEMS.
