INTRODUCTIONEUS has great advantages over CT and other imaging modalities because EUS enables assessment of the echo structure in < 1-cm-diameter lesions. It provides an opportunity to obtain material from abnormal lesions via the GI wall for tissue confirmation by using EUS-guided FNA. Furthermore, many kinds of therapeutic interventional EUS have been developed in recent years, including pseudocyst drainage, bile drainage, celiac plexus neurolysis, and anti-cancer therapy. For that reason, it is important to acquire the EUS anatomy using curved linear-array EUS to perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic interventional EUS with safety and certainty. In this article, standard imaging techniques in the pancreas and biliary tree by using a curved linear-array EUS are summarized on the basis of the literatures, particularly addressing the stations.
