Endoscopy-assisted wireless intragastric pH monitoring.

We read with interest the article by Yamaguchi et al1 on endoscopic placement of the Bravo capsule for analysis of intragastric pH.The authors claim that there have been no previous reports of endoscopy-guided placement of the Bravo capsule1 despite our previously reported case.2 Subsequently, we used the same technique for intragastric pH recording in 30 patients as part of a study to assess the pharmacody-namic profiles of various intravenous proton pump inhibitors,3 and premature capsule dislodgement was not noted in any of these cases. In this study, pH tracings did not show any major artifacts, and data capture was complete for the entire 48-hour period in all patients.
