Successful treatment of endoscopic sphincterotomy-induced early hemorrhage with application of Ankaferd Blood Stopper.

We read with great interest the case report by Tuncer et al regarding the successful use of Ankaferd Blood Stopper (ABS) (Ankaferd Saglik Uriinleri, A.S., Istanbul, Turkey) in a patient with fundal variceal bleeding. We think that this report is of great importance, because, despite recent advances in diagnosis and treatment, upper GI bleeding is still a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. For that reason, it is important for centers to report their encouraging results that support the use of novel methods for controlling upper GI bleeding.
