Despite major advances in endoscopic technology over the past 30 years and the widespread adoption of colono-scopy as the preferred option for colorectal cancer (CRC) screening and surveillance, CRC remains the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women, and the second leading cause of death from cancer in the United States.
