EIH should be considered as a potential complication after endoscopic esophageal biopsy. Differentiating the condition from esophageal perforation, aortic dissection, or esophageal malignancy is important in light of the differing treatments and outcomes. Endoscopic therapy should be considered in patients with a deteriorating condition.
