Barrett's esophagus (BE) is associated with a 30- to 50-fold increased risk for development of esophageal adeno-carcinoma. For Barrett's high-grade dysplasia (HGD) and mucosal cancer, endoscopic ablation such as EMR is emerging as a viable option for potential cure. In EMR, the "suck and cut" technique uses either a transparent cap ("lift and cut" method) or a band ligator hood ("ligate and cut") method.
