摘要

Agridded dataset is of great value for many applications, one of which is the validation of climate models. Since observations at meteorological stations represent variables at specific locations, while climate model simulations give information as area averages, the comparison between observed and simulated data is not simple. Therefore, it is important to develop interpolation methodologies that convert datasets of observed unevenly distributed meteorological variables in a region into datasets ofobserved values for grid boxes, evenly distributed in space and representing areal means. Furthermore, a gridded dataset can provide a reliable interpolation of certain climatic variables for small regions where no observations are available, allowing local climatological studies in regions with scarce meteorological stations.
