HPV vaccine continues to be safe and effective, and its benefits continue to outweigh its risks.

The articles 'Currently approved prophylactic HPV vaccines' [1] and 'Gardasil® needs a new consent form' [2] contain some inaccuracies that are not supported by available scientific evidence. The information presented in these articles has the potential to raise unfounded concerns regarding both Gardasil~R and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination in general.We would like to address the following six areas of concern.The review article states: "When women are included regardless of baseline serologic and HPV status who have received one or more injections (intention-to-treat [ITT] population), the efficacy of Gardasil over an average of 36 months falls to 44% against cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or worse (CIN2*) caused by HPV16/18.
