One of the benefits of working for the same company for many years is the chance to examine the decisions you've made and reflect on how well they worked. For example, I take pride in our company's real-estate holdings, its fleet, and reputation in the market. Every business owner has favorites and those are mine. Often however, business owners don't think enough about the policies, procedures, incentive programs, and tribal knowledge that runs through the veins of our companies. Yet those are the qualities that give them a distinctive personality. The things we can't see or hold form a company's culture and determine how employees feel when they arrive at work each Monday morning.
