Mepitel is a sterile porous dressing with low adherence consisting of a polyamide gel coated with silicone. The dressing has been shown to be effective in fixation of skin grafts , as well as an excellent temporary dressing before delayed split skin graft . The dressing is easy to apply and has been shown to be a less painful method of dressing fingertip injuries in children [4j#
