Outotec Inks 37-MW Biomass Gasification Project Deal in Connecticut

Outotec Energy – formerly known as Energy Products of Idaho (EPI) – announced January 17 that it won a deal to provide a biomass gasification system for the Plainfield Renewable Energy (PRE) project in Plainfield, Conn. "The Outotec-EPI advanced staged gasification system is designed to convert construction and demolition waste and other biomass materials into 348,200 pounds per hour of superheated steam at 955°F and 1556 psi for PRE's 37.5-megawatt renewable energy application," according to the company.
