ANOTHER PYROTECHNIC CIRCUIT BREAKER

We recently encountered an interesting invention by a colleague, Abrar Tirmizi, of Special Devices Inc.; US Patent number 7239225 - dated July 3, 2007 - covers this pyrotechnic circuit breaker. We show a picture from the patent as Figure 1. The upper housing (22) holds an electroexplosive device or EED (32), which resembles an automotive airbag initiator. It has two pins (short, rigid leadwires) extending upward for electrical connection.
