Obtaining historical weather data can be a frustrating experience. Finding the answers to simple questions like, "What was the temperature in Boston at 1900 UTC 23 July 1975?" can be a challenge. Many students and researchers desire historical weather data, but are unaware of where to obtain it. Popular online historical databases have limited data-sets, limited capabilities, or both. The sidebar presents several sources of data available online.
