Differential cross sections for the nuclear reaction 14N(p7) in the E = 1058 keV resonance region are measured at the UP-2-1 facility. Calculation of the differential cross section for radiative capture with the phenomenological optical potential has allowed a correct description of the available experimental data. The astrophysical S-factor is calculated for the I4N(p7) reaction. It is extrapolated to the region of zero energies and the resulting S(0) values are compared with the results of other authors. Average 14N(p7) reaction rates are calculated. The ratio between the rate for the proton capture to the ground state and the rate for the capture to all states of the 15O nucleus increases with increasing temperature.
