Paper mill gains from condition monitoring

The application of condition monitoring techniques to one of Austria's oldest paper production plants has had significant benefits for its owner, Sappi. The introduction of SKF condition monitoring systems to new and existing papermaking machinery has had a major impact on production revenues by identifying problems early - problems that could potentially halt paper production. The Sappi Gratkorn mill has the largest production line worldwide for high-quality wood-free coated papers, with an annual output of 470,000 tonnes. All of its machines are equipped with condition monitoring systems supplied by SKF.
