Accurate positioning of components is a requirement within many sectors of the manufacturing industry. A common solution is the table system that moves the component into the correct position so that work can be carried out.Linear drive systems for positioning tables are growing in popularity in situations where conventional drive systems have reached the limits of their mechanical performance. As this concept grows in popularity, pricing is becoming more competitive withtraditional solutions such as volume manufacturing.Today, most series applications for linear drives are found in the electronics industry, which is characterised by very short cycle times and high positioning accuracy requirements.
