Incidence and mortality of systemic fungal infection in burned patients.

We read with great interest the article on the incidence of systemic fungal infection and related mortality following severe burns [1]. Autopsies are rarely performed these days [2], so data on the presence of fungal elements in a large autopsy series in burn patients are of substantial scientific value.
