Birth control pills are an integral part of daily life for more than 100 million women around the world (Zlidar, 2000). The Pill has been on the market for more than four decades. It was first manufactured in the early 1960s by Gregory Goodwin Pincus and is still one of the most popular reversible contraceptive methods (Rosenberg, Waugh, & Burnhill, 1998), although other delivery methods for hormonal contraception, such as patches and periodical injections, are available.
