Odd Engstrom was Deputy Prime Minister and Budget Minister of Sweden from 1988 to 1991. He was credited with engineering the survival of the Swedish banking system during the financial crisis of 1992 to 1994 which almost saw the collapse of many of the country's financial institutions.
