US International Paper,the 24bn-turnover forestry products business,is to sell its Arizona Chemical business to private equity firm Rhone Capital for 485m.The purchase is being made by Rhone Capital's Rhone Capital III L.P.fund.International Paper said the move was one of a series of divestments aimed at transforming the company into a more focused and profitable company.It will retain a minority interest of approximately 10% when the transaction closes in the first quarter of 2007.
