BASF expands emulsion polymers and resins in US and closes Delaware site

US BASF USA has announced plans to expand manufacturing capacities at its plants in Michigan and Pennsylvania where it makes styrene acrylic resins and emulsions used in waterborne inks and coatings, marketed under the trade name Joncryl. At the same time, the company will close by the end of the year its plant in Seaford, Delaware, which has produced emulsion polymers since 1986. Production from Seaford will be transferred to the Wyandotte, Michigan, and Monaca, Pennsylvania, sites, which are newer facilities.
