PPG opens automotive coatings plant in China to supply Chinese vehicle manufacturer Chery

US PPG industries has opened an automotive coatings plant in Wuhu,in China's south-eastern Anhui Province,that will primarily serve local Chinese car manufacturer Chery.The RMB 70 million(?6.8m/10.2m),40,000-square metre plant is consistent with PPG's strategy of targeting emerging regions."One of the major reasons to invest in a new plant in Wuhu is to better support one of our key customers,Chery Automotive,"said Viktor Sekmakas,president of PPG Asia Pacific."We want to help our customers reduce costs,and building a plant close to Chery helps to shorten lead time and increase efficiencies.In addition,this plant will enable us to better support the market in Southern China,"he added.
