Altana acquires printing ink manufacturer Color Chemie

GERMANY German specialty chemicals group Altana is to acquire compatriot inks maker Color Chemie as part of a growth through acquisition strategy. Headquartered in Biidingen, Hesse, Germany, Color Chemie produces mainly environmentally friendly, water-based speciality printing inks and related services with about 150 employees. Its printing inks are primarily used for packaging boxes, foils, carrier bags, gift wrapping papers and wallpapers. Sales last year totaled ?46 million.
