Stimulus for high productivity manufacture

The trend towards high speed machining is gaining ground in industrial production. A new generation of high-revving drive systems is now available to put it into practice. Today, the rapid development of semiconductor technology and power electronics permits the operation of AC machines at very high speeds. Fast-revving drive systems, for example, are used in conjunction with the spindles of machine tools, generators of steam turbines, centrifuges, turbomolecular pumps and gas blowers. Considerable challenges confront the developers of these systems in respect of the design of the rotors and bearings. Consideration must also be given to the additional losses in the stators and rotors resulting from high frequencies. Servax has accepted these challenges and has developed appropriate solutions accordingly.
