摘要

I would like to congratulate the authors of the study published in European Spine Journal entitled "Centralization in patients with sciatica: are pain responses to repeated movement and positioning associated with outcome or types of disc lesions?" by Hanne B. Albert, Eva Hauge and Claus Manniche [1].The first report of the centralisation phenomenon was described in 1981 and followed 20 years of experimentation. I reported that when induced clinically as a result of various repetitive end range movements, centralising pain was predictive of good prognosis. I presented these findings in a monogram published in 1981.
